Clash of Clans: How Much It Really Makes
It’s no surprise that Supercell, the developer and publisher behind Clash of Clans, rakes so much money every day of every month of every year. In a news article by TheHustle.co back in 2016, the Finland-based company $964,000,000 by the end of 2015.
Clash of Clans creator Supercell reported $964 million profits out of its $2.3 billion revenue in 2015. This helped the gaming company grow its value to $5.5 billion. Its total worth exceeds that of BuzzFeed, Evernote, and Eventbrite combined.
Quite remarkable, isn’t it? One of the most popular media companies in history, a note organization app with over 100 million users, and the largest event hosting company when put together are worth less than a company that developed and released four mobile games.
Another mind-boggling fact is that Supercell only has a workforce of 150 employees. In comparison, BuzzFeed, Evernote, and Eventbrite have a combined total of over 1,000 employees.
Clash of Clans eventually lost its throne as the top-grossing game in the App Store and Play Store. But hey, it’s raking $1,000,000 a day as of August 2018.
It’s quite impressive that Clash of Clans is still raking in the money 6 years after its release. The worldwide phenomenon continues to conquer one milestone after another. There’s just something about it that endeared it to millions of people. The results speak for themselves. The remarkable success is proof of the game’s amazing design and advertising. $1 million a day in revenue for a 6-year-old game is unprecedented.
That just goes to show that Clash of Clans makes money on a very large scale. It proves that the game “is not dead” despite what people have said about the game. Sure, other mobile games such as Moonton’s Mobile Legends and even Supercell’s own Clash Royale are now more popular than CoC. But CoC continues to be a strong player in the free-to-play market today.
